Arch Insurance International has promoted Laura Brahams (pictured above) to head of third-party claims, with the appointment effective immediately.
In her new capacity, Brahams will oversee the third-party claims function, which encompasses casualty, cyber, financial lines, healthcare, intangible assets, and professional liability. She will be based in London and will report to Barbara Rizzi, chief claims officer at Arch Insurance International.
The promotion follows Rizzi’s recent elevation to chief claims officer. Brahams, who joined Arch in 2015 and previously served as financial lines claims manager, brings over 18 years of insurance experience.
Before joining Arch, she worked at various law firms including Kennedys Law LLP and is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
Brahams currently chairs the International Underwriting Association’s Professional Lines Claims Committee and co-chairs the Arch Insurance International Culture Committee, which aims to promote a positive workplace culture within the company.
Rizzi noted that Brahams’ promotion is a natural progression, highlighting her strong technical and leadership skills, as well as her dedication to service excellence since joining Arch.
“In her new role, she will lead a high-performing team of claims professionals which I’m sure will continue to thrive under her leadership as we remain committed to delivering a superior customer-focused experience for every claim that we manage,” Rizzi said.
In addition, Arch Insurance International recently rolled out a new specialist insurance product tailored for regional events across the UK and Europe for clients domiciled in Britain. The offering was described as a significant development in the event cancellation insurance sector by introducing coverage on an agreed value basis – a first in the industry.
The firm also recently launched an expanded terrorism insurance product for businesses across the UK regions.
Arch Insurance International was awarded as the Best Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace in the UK. Read the full report here.
