Forty £2,500 donations – or a total of £100,000 – will be handed out by the QBE Foundation to local charities put forward by qualified brokers in the UK.
The Charity of Choice award is a new initiative by QBE’s charitable arm, which has donated more than £8 million to charities since it came to life in 2011.
According to the QBE Foundation, nominations will be considered from UK-based brokers who hold a current authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority. Multiple nominations from different individuals within the same firm are allowed, as long as it’s not the same charity that’s being nominated.
“QBE has a proud history of supporting good causes that benefit the communities in which we live and work,” said Grant Clemence, chair of the QBE Foundation in Europe.
“With the help of our broking partners, QBE’s ‘Charity of Choice’ awards will help us make a difference to even more people across the UK. I encourage brokers to get involved by nominating a charity close to their hearts.”
Brokers can nominate until October 20.
