Zurich has brought in a new chief underwriting officer for its UK business, the firm announced today.
Hayley Robinson, who joins from RSA, has been appointed to the role where she will lead on underwriting strategy across all lines of business.
Robinson spent 30 years at RSA, with her most recent role being managing director of global risk solutions for UK & international. She is described by Zurich as having a “wealth of experience both in the UK and international markets.”
At RSA, she was responsible for the overall profit and loss across large and complex customers including London Market, marine, renewable energy and wholesale. Previously, she was director of global specialty lines for the business’s UK and western Europe arm, following a stint at Aviva as UK CUO for personal lines.
The new chief underwriting officer said: “The underwriting arena is more vibrant than ever as we work at pace to anticipate and respond to customer needs and market shifts. Emerging technology and an increasingly complex risk landscape present us with exciting challenges as well as fantastic opportunities to help our customers understand and manage these risks.
