Bupa UK alum Catherine Barton has joined commercial motor insurer Zego as chief insurance officer.
“Zego is at the forefront of innovation in the insurance industry and has the potential to be a world-leading insurtech brand,” asserted the key arrival, who joins from Talbot Underwriting where she served as chief financial officer.
“Having the opportunity to work with a really talented and diverse team is what attracted me to Zego, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve and deliver for our customers in 2022.”
In the newly created role, Barton will be in charge of building relationships with (re)insurer partners and helping Zego expand and shore up its product offering. The former Deloitte and EY partner also brings experience from having been a non-executive director at motor insurer Sabre Insurance Group.
“We are so excited to have Catherine onboard,” commented Zego chief executive Sten Saar. “Her wealth of experience in insurance and finance will be essential for bolstering our relationships with insurance partners.
“At Zego, one of our priorities this year is bringing new products to the market to cater to a wider pool of businesses and customers who use their vehicle for work, and Catherine’s expertise will be invaluable in helping us deliver on this.”
