XL Catlin will be restructuring its Southern Europe operations to include France alongside Italy and Iberia.
The Southern Europe regional operations will be headed by Bruno Laval, who also holds the country manager position in France. Simona Fumagalli has also been promoted to country manager for Italy, and José Ramón Morales is now country manager for Iberia. All appointments are effective immediately.
Laval has over 24 years experience in the insurance industry and has been with XL since 2001. He was appointed as regional manager for Iberia and Latin America in 2010, where he expanded insurance operations in Brazil and Mexico.
Fumagalli joined XL in 2014 from
Zurich Insurance. She will be retaining her position as chief underwriting officer for professional indemnity within international financial lines.
José Ramón Morales has worked with XL since 2012, and was promoted to deputy country manager for Iberia in 2014. He has worked for
AXA,
QBE Insurance,
Aon Re, and Gen Re.
