WTW has announced two key developments aimed at expanding its insurance consulting and distribution capabilities.
Firstly, the global broker has appointed Colin Dutkiewicz (pictured above) as senior director to its insurance consulting and technology (ICT) business. Based in London, Dutkiewicz will focus on expanding WTW’s capital advisory offerings, leveraging his 30 years of experience in the life re/insurance industry.
He joins WTW from Aon, where he served as global head of life for its reinsurance solutions business. In that role, he was responsible for aligning regional resources to enhance global life capabilities and revenue growth. Prior to Aon, Dutkiewicz was global actuary at Swiss Re’s life and health business management team.
Tammy Richardson, managing director and European regional leader of WTW’s insurance consulting and technology division, stated that Dutkiewicz’s extensive leadership experience in the re/insurance industry will strengthen the company’s global transaction and capital advisory services.
“He brings proven business building experience and his deep knowledge of the (re)insurance industry will strengthen our global transaction and capital advisory capabilities, elevating client experience across the business,” Richardson said.
“I am thrilled to join WTW and contribute to the continued success of the hugely experienced and talented ICT business. I look forward to collaborating with our regional teams to provide innovative solutions that deliver exceptional value to our clients in Europe and beyond,” Dutkiewicz said.
In addition to this appointment, WTW has announced a new partnership between its Affinity Insurance business and Kayna, an insurance infrastructure platform. The partnership aims to deliver tailored insurance solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK and US through Vertical Software-as-a-Service (vSaaS) platforms.
These platforms are industry-specific software solutions, with the partnership initially focusing on sectors such as construction, legal, salon/spa, fitness, and field services.
WTW’s specialist teams in the UK and US will lead product development and broker the insurance offerings. The partnership will enable WTW to distribute a range of insurance products, including property, general liability, workers’ compensation, commercial auto, and umbrella liability coverage, to industry-specific vSaaS platforms.
“This is Affinity Insurance 2.0”, said Paul Lubbers (pictured immediately above, left), Head of Affinity and Programs US at WTW. “Insurance at your fingertips, forms derived from the actual key data that informs insurance metrics, and a facilitated process that goes beyond the policy purchase to trigger alerts if coverage level needs to be updated to mitigate risk.”
Anthony Borgman (pictured immediately above, right), head of Affinity GB added that he was delighted to see the UK affinity capabilities expand.
The collaboration is expected to drive growth for vSaaS providers by leveraging platform data to offer relevant, customised insurance solutions directly to their customer base.
