WTW has appointed seasoned property underwriter Sudhir Modhvadia as its new head of structured risk, GB.
Modhvadia has a wealth of knowledge and experience in most assumed lines of property business, covering insurance (open market and delegated authorities) and reinsurance (treaty excess of loss (XOL) and proportional).
He joins WTW from Fidelis Insurance, where he was a senior underwriter. Previously, he spent eight years at RenaissanceRe Syndicate 1458, most recently as the vice president, senior underwriter – property. In this role, he helped grow and manage Syndicate 1458’s portfolio, focused on delegated authorities, and underwrote across other property lines depending on the time of year, client, and the department’s resourcing needs.
In his new role at WTW, he will be responsible for all multiple risk transactions within the facultative team as it looks to expand its strategic reinsurance offering to clients. He will be based in London and report to WTW head of facultative Alex Shepherd. He will also help WTW’s lines of business develop their risk facility and portfolio management capabilities.
Shepherd, who’s delighted to welcome Modhvadia to the facultative team, commented: “Our facultative team continues to grow from strength to strength, and Sudhir brings extensive industry experience across the complex area of structured risk. Sudhir joins us at an incredibly exciting time for our global facultative business as we continue to solidify our proposition and support our clients with innovative solutions.”
