White Bear Group bolsters its specialist Managing General Agent (MGA) platform with the addition of a bloodstock division.

Appointing Tara Woodward as Bloodstock underwriter and Madeline Long as Bloodstock underwriting assistant, the expansion builds upon White Bear Managers' existing portfolio of specialist MGA trading units.

The current portfolio includes energy liability, builders risk, management liability, and aviation.

Following an amicable departure from Ryan Specialty Group, the bloodstock operation will continue under a binding authority agreement backed by Lloyd's capacity, expanded by the addition of Blenheim Syndicate 5886.

Woodward joins White Bear following her role as head of Bloodstock at Castel Specialty and her previous position at Novae Plc. Meanwhile, Long also transitions from Castel Specialty.

Combined, the team's experience of nearly 35 years is expected to bring value to the team.

Their expertise centres primarily on the mortality of breeding and racing thoroughbreds, high-value sports and show horses, and fertility assessment of new thoroughbred stallion prospects.

The appointments are part of the White Bear Group's expansion.

White Bear Group is comprised of a Lloyd’s Managing Agency, Blenheim Underwriting Ltd, and its MGA platform, White Bear Managers Ltd.
