Employee benefits company Unum UK has added former esure chief executive Stuart Vann to its board of directors.
Vann, who became CEO of the Surrey-headquartered personal lines insurer in 2012 after joining in 2000, left esure in 2018 and currently chairs the remuneration committee at British Gas Insurance. At Unum, he will serve as an independent non-executive director.
“I’m delighted to welcome Stuart into his new role,” commented Unum UK chief executive Mark Till. “I know that he is excited about this opportunity, and I’m certainly looking forward to working closely with him as we continue to push forward with our strategy and growth agenda.
“His experience and values will undoubtedly benefit our business as we continue to ensure that Unum UK is well placed as both a market leader and employer.”
Part of Vann’s remit is chairing the audit committee.
With in-depth insurance industry knowledge – as well as comprehensive understanding of growth programmes, digital distribution and innovation, data analysis, and brand development – the ex-GoCompare chair is seen as a “valuable addition” to the firm.
The employee benefits provider noted: “As a highly values-led individual who is keen to be involved in a business that aims to make people’s lives better, Stuart will be the perfect fit for Unum UK.”
Unum, which advocates workplace well-being, specialises in the areas of income protection, life insurance, and critical Illness. Its offerings also include dental and optical cover.
