Specialty international (re)insurance group Chaucer has added Craig Curtiss and Callum Bennett as class underwriter and deputy class underwriter, respectively, to its political violence team.
Curtiss was snapped up from IGI Insurance, where he was political violence head, and brings more than a decade of experience including time spent at Inter Hannover UK. Bennett, meanwhile, made the switch from Axis where he wrote product recall, piracy, and kidnap and ransom business as part of the crisis management team.
“I am excited to welcome Craig and Callum to the team,” commented Andrew Bauckham, head of political violence at Chaucer. “The quality of our people is a key factor in choosing Chaucer as a business partner, and the outstanding knowledge and insight of Craig and Callum across the political violence spectrum will be a great addition to the service we provide for clients and brokers.”
The Chaucer unit provides a broad range of war, terrorism, and political violence solutions not only in the UK but also internationally.
“We are a market-leader in the political violence space, committed to underwriting expertise, product innovation, comprehensive distribution, and a responsive service to meet the evolving needs of brokers and clients,” added Ed Lines, active underwriter of Syndicate 1084 at Chaucer. “The recruitment of Craig and Callum are a key part to delivering this.”
