Bluefin senior executive Jane Bean is set to join
UK General Insurance as chief risk officer, the Leeds-based personal lines insurer has announced.
Bean takes up the CRO post at UKG on May 15, reporting to managing director Karen Beales, who called her a “hugely experienced risk and compliance practitioner.”
A local to Yorkshire, Bean also shows that “there is plenty of senior insurance talent in this part of the world,” Beales added.
Bean comes from Bluefin, where she was also the CRO and risk and compliance director. In addition, she has held senior and management positions at Smart & Cook, IBM and Commercial Union.
Bean believes that she is joining UKG at an “exciting time” for the company as it prepares for new ownership.
“In stepping across from broking to one of the UK’s leading personal lines MGAs, I am committed to playing a full part in helping UK General achieve its long term strategic ambitions,” Bean commented.
“The personal lines market is in a state of rapid change, driven by technology, regulation and changing customer buying habits,” she added.
