The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) has announced that Typhaine Beaupérin (pictured above) will step down as chief executive officer and Secretary General in June.

Beaupérin took on the CEO position in December 2015 and was appointed Secretary General in 2019.

Over nearly a decade, she has guided the Federation’s strategic direction and worked to represent the interests of member associations at both the EU and international levels.

During her time as CEO, FERMA said that it strengthened its engagement with European institutions, integrating risk management principles into a number of regulatory frameworks. She also oversaw the development of FERMA’s EU Policy Manifestos, which outline the Federation’s regulatory priorities for EU stakeholders.

Beaupérin was also involved in expanding FERMA’s collaboration within the risk management sector and increasing engagement among members. Under her leadership, the FERMA Forum in Madrid attracted over 3,000 attendees. She also oversaw the expansion of the FERMA Risk Manager Survey into a global initiative.

During her tenure, Beaupérin noted that FERMA’s mission has been focused on increasing the visibility and influence of risk management.

FERMA’s rimap certification programme, which aims to support professional standards in risk management, also continued its development under Beaupérin’s leadership.

The federation also announced that it has begun succession planning and is expected to announce a new CEO and Secretary General in due course.

FERMA president Charlotte Hedemark said Beaupérin had shown consistent commitment to the Federation’s objectives, which include representing the risk management profession in Europe, strengthening FERMA’s influence with EU institutions, and broadening its member network.

In October, the federation also issued a call-to-action urging European Union institutions to simplify cyber incident reporting requirements and to consider the insurance implications of cyber-related legislation.
