There are a host of executives who can say they’ve been in the insurance industry for a decade or two – however, not too many can say they’ve chalked up more than half a century.
That, however, is exactly what Ian Fordham has done – and now he is bidding farewell to his role as head of product oversight and underwriting referrals at SCOR Channel as he looks forward to retirement in July. His career has seen him be part of the Lloyd’s market since 1968.
However, as one chapter closes, two more open at the firm – with the arrival of Christian Stanley as head of underwriting insight and Christianna Vandoorne as head of terrorism and political violence.
His departure certainly isn’t lost on SCOR Specialty Insurance EMEA CEO Stuart McMurdo.
“I’d like to pass on my sincere thanks to Ian,” he said. “He is an outstanding member of our team and has been a huge asset to the growth and development of this Syndicate. He has spent over 50 years in this industry so his experience, his expertise and his insight has been invaluable. On behalf of everyone at SCOR Channel, we wish him the very best with his retirement and future plans.”
Stanley was previously the casualty executive of Lloyd’s underwriting performance management directorate, and also includes time at Navigators Syndicate 1221 among his extensive list of experience. Meanwhile, Vandoorne started her career back in 2006 at Hiscox Syndicate 3333 and has since held roles at a host of top firms.
“Christian and Christianna bring an excellent array of combined experience and expertise in our focus business areas,” added McMurdo. “Their knowledge is invaluable, and we look forward to continued success in these areas of business and in supporting our clients in the market.”
