We still have one and a half months left in 2017, but we’re already getting a glimpse of the year to come for two entities within The Ardonagh Group. One thing we can tell you: there will be some changes here and there.
First,
Towergate Underwriting is set for a rebrand – starting February 2018, it will be known as
Geo Underwriting. In the meantime Russell Crewe (pictured), claims director at sister firm Direct Group (DG), will be responsible for claims servicing as if
Towergate Underwriting were a client. He will be in charge of both tasks until the re-branded business appoints a new head of claims early next year.
Second, what this means is the transition into a new outsourced claims management model for some of the underwriting division, which DG chief executive Derek Coles said is opening up new trading locations and staff opportunities for them. “This will make DG’s claims division one of the largest outsourced claims functions in the UK with over 500 claims professionals,” he noted.
“I look forward to working with Paul [Dilley,
Towergate Underwriting chief executive] and his team, as a new client, to deliver market-leading claims lifecycle reduction controls, associated indemnity savings, and utilise DG’s total claims management for Towergate’s household portfolio,” commented Crewe, who added that DG is able to manage a claim end to end within the in-house team and, therefore, with no external handoffs.
Meanwhile Dilley described DG as “exceptionally competent and agile” as an outsourced claims provider. “We are delighted to secure Russell and his team to further improve our own claims performance for our customers and capacity providers,” he said.
