Tokio Marine HCC International (TMHCCI), part of the Tokio Marine HCC group based in Houston, Texas, has announced the promotions of Fiona O’Brien to credit risk underwriting manager and Will O’Brien to risk underwriter in its UK trade credit division.

Fiona will oversee the risk underwriting team and manage her specialist portfolio. She will continue to strengthen relationships with broking partners. With nearly 20 years of industry experience, Fiona joined TMHCCI in 2015 as a senior underwriter and currently manages the retail portfolio. Her career began at Grant Thornton, followed by a role at QBE Europe before joining TMHCCI.

Will is set to take on the role of risk underwriter, assuming responsibility for the Retail portfolio previously managed by Fiona. His promotion from Credit Analyst reflects his financial skills, ability to handle complex challenges, and dedication to the strategic goals of the team.

To ensure a smooth transition, Fiona and Will plan to collaborate over the next few months, keeping broking partners and policyholders informed of the changes.

Terry Macauley (pictured above), deputy head of risk, stated that Fiona and Will have been crucial to the success of the trade credit business.

“Demand for our specialist offering is growing, reflecting an increasingly complex risk landscape for insureds, and I am delighted that we have the talent inhouse to pursue our growth strategy. These promotions consolidate our expert team and complement our client-centric proposition and ambition to deliver continued growth across portfolios,” Macauley said.

Back in May, Tokio Marine HCC – Specialty Group has also announced the launch of its new product recall offering, accompanied by two senior appointments to its crisis management team.

Mark Hutton took on the helm in the newly established role of head of crisis management for international. Hutton brings with him a wealth of experience garnered over a 25-year career in underwriting.

Accompanying Hutton is Ian Davidson, appointed as senior underwriter for crisis management. Davidson also hails from AXA XL and brings to his new role a wealth of experience in product recall for the APAC region from his previous role at XL Catlin’s Sydney office.
