TL Dallas Group, a family and employee-owned independent insurance and risk management firm, has announced the appointment of Peter Hodgson (pictured) as director of trade credit. Hodgson, a seasoned professional in the industry, brings extensive expertise to the Bradford-headquartered firm and will lead its trade credit division, a news release noted.

Hodgson will collaborate with Simon Hyde, who has been with TL Dallas for more than 25 years and has led the 12-member trade credit team in recent years. Hyde is set to retire in early 2025.

Group managing director Polly Staveley expressed enthusiasm about Hodgson’s arrival, citing his track record of growth at Reynolds, an independent insurance broker. “We are thrilled that Peter is joining us. He was looking for a new challenge and given his experience in helping to grow independent insurance broker, Reynolds, both before and after its sale, together with his excellent knowledge of the market, we feel he is very well placed to lead and grow our trade credit team, who are based in our Bradford, Falkirk and Glasgow offices.”

Hodgson highlighted TL Dallas’s reputation for client service and market knowledge as key factors in his decision to join the firm. “TL Dallas has an enviable client base, many of which have been with the firm for decades, and it is renowned in the market for providing a personal service and having a dedicated and knowledgeable trade credit team. I’m looking forward to helping the firm continue to grow, whilst supporting businesses of all sizes by protecting them from the risk of non-payment and late payment, which is often a key reason why companies fail,” he said.

TL Dallas has more than 50 years of experience providing trade credit insurance, serving clients across the United Kingdom, from Shetland to Devon.
