Ascot Underwriting has recruited senior executives Ian Thompson, Nick Williamson, and Justin Keith from the reinsurance arm of
Hiscox Group.
The trio will be joining Ascot on March 01 to underwrite healthcare, casualty treaty, and specialty reinsurance business in the firm’s Bermuda office.
“I am delighted to welcome Ian, Nick, and Justin to Ascot,” said Ascot Underwriting CEO Andrew Brooks. “Their extensive experience in healthcare insurance will enable Ascot to offer our clients valuable expertise in this class of business.”
Thompson is the global healthcare practice leader at Hiscox Group and head of
casualty at Hiscox Re. A 22-year industry veteran, he started his insurance career as a professional lines broker before moving to underwriting.

An actuarial analyst when he started in the industry, Williamson is now the vice president, healthcare, at Hiscox Re. He brings 20 years of insurance experience to Ascot.
Meanwhile, having been in the industry for 18 years, Keith currently serves as vice president, underwriting, at Hiscox Re. He started as a hospital professional liability underwriter before moving to healthcare.
“The team is very excited to be joining Ascot, where we will look to develop innovative and high quality products for clients and brokers that know us well,” Thompson said.
