The evolution of mobility insurance is reshaping how businesses manage risk in the face of technological advancements. In an interview with Insurance Business, Sam Tiltman, head of Marsh’s mobility practice in the UK, stressed the importance of insurance as a proactive enabler for new mobility solutions. Without adequate coverage, businesses face barriers to investment, research, and operations.
The insurance industry’s traditional structure, with rigid product categories like motor insurance, struggles to address the multifaceted risks of emerging mobility models, it was suggested. Tiltman calls for a solutions-based approach that prioritises understanding client needs and tailoring risk management strategies.
To keep pace, insurers must embrace innovation, adapt their frameworks, and invest in creative solutions, it was said. Tiltman compared this shift to past insurance milestones, such as coverage for shipping and aviation, urging the industry to play a similar role in supporting mobility’s future.
