We’re only a month away from the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); unfortunately, the questions have not stopped coming. You can ask the Beazley Breach Response (BBR) services team, which has been fielding enquiries, and they will tell you that a knowledge gap exists.
To address this, given the May 25 D-day, Beazley has partnered with DAC Beachcroft to give its BBR policyholders in the UK access to the international law firm’s GDPR experts. The cyber liability insurer said those who wish to take advantage of the service just have to email the BBR services team and they will be connected free of charge with a DAC Beachcroft lawyer.
Guidance centres on what the new regulation means for concerned policyholders, as well as the steps they should consider taking to minimise non-compliance risks. Beazley said the helpline is aimed at assisting clients in determining where best to apply internal resources or commit budget to compliance efforts.
“Behind the headline-grabbing financial penalties, GDPR is complex and it needs to be properly understood by organisations so they can understand what they need to do now to mitigate their exposure,” noted Raf Sanchez, international breach response service manager at Beazley. “The experience of our BBR services team has shown a real and pressing need for easy access to specialist advice at this critical juncture.
“That’s exactly why we have partnered with DAC Beachcroft and set up our policyholder helpline.”
