Sterling Insurance, an insurance broker, has announced a three-year partnership with SuperCupNI. In a statement, it has been revealed that the collaboration begins this summer, extending through 2026.
The partnership comes as SuperCupNI celebrates its 41st anniversary. The 2024 tournament is expected to draw more than 50,000 visitors and up to 2,500 participants, including young players, families, and football fans from around the world. This year’s event will feature teams from high-profile clubs such as Manchester United, West Ham United, Celtic, and Rangers, competing in a week of matches across multiple age groups.
Sterling Insurance has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years. The company offers coverage for a diverse range of clients, including young drivers, classic car motorists, and van owners, particularly in Northern Ireland. In a statement, the company notes this partnership with SuperCupNI aligns with its commitment to supporting youth development and promoting community wellbeing across Northern Ireland.
“We feel proud and privileged to have agreed on a three-year association with one of the world’s most respected youth football tournaments,” said Andy Morton, general manager at Sterling Insurance. “The SuperCupNI is synonymous with Northern Ireland and brings so much joy and positivity to the country. We’re excited to be part of that, starting this summer.”
Morton further highlighted the unique aspects of the partnership, noting that Sterling Insurance aims to enhance the tournament experience with new initiatives.
“We want to enhance the experience where we can and help make more memories. There are lots of exciting ideas in the pipeline that we hope to unveil in the coming weeks,” he added.
Victor Leonard, chairperson of the SuperCupNI, welcomed Sterling Insurance to the event’s network of partners.
“We’re delighted to welcome Sterling Insurance on board as a key tournament partner for the next three years,” Leonard said. “It’s another exciting partnership for SuperCupNI as we prepare for what promises to be an exceptional 2024 tournament.”
Leonard highlighted that the partnership would benefit both SuperCupNI and Sterling Insurance, offering an opportunity for the insurance broker to expand its presence in Northern Ireland and make a positive impact on local communities and youth football.
The 2024 SuperCupNI will feature over 60 teams competing across five age groups, both male and female, with matches held at various venues in Northern Ireland, including Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, and Mid and East Antrim Borough Council. The tournament will begin with an opening parade and ceremony on Sunday, July 21, with Finals Day scheduled for Friday, July 26.
