Philip Turner (pictured) is making a Marsh comeback.
Slated to return to the top broker in the first quarter of 2020 to serve as UK head of specie within Marsh JLT Specialty, Turner previously led Marsh’s highly successful specie practice from 1997 to 2015. The London-based executive most recently held the role of specie underwriter at Pioneer Underwriting.
“The specie insurance market is one of the most dynamic parts of the industry and is at a pivotal point in its development with the emergence of new technologies such as cryptocurrency and AI-generated art,” noted Turner, who was also head of specie at insurer Canopius.
“Marsh is the UK’s leading specie insurance broker and I’m very much looking forward to my return.”
An expert in the placement of commercial insurance for fine art, jewellery, precious metals, cash in transit, investor protection, and digital assets, Turner brings more than four decades of specialist experience to the table.
“We’re delighted to welcome Philip back to Marsh; his experience in the highly specialist specie insurance market – both as an underwriter and broker – is second to none,” commented Paul Moody, UK chief executive of Marsh JLT Specialty.
“Clients and colleagues will benefit significantly from Philip’s knowledge as we continue to develop services and solutions that provide firms with the protection they require to operate successfully in this fast-paced sector.”
