Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has announced its acquisition of Anthony James Insurance Brokers, pending regulatory approval.

The acquisition is aimed at enhancing SRG’s retail division, Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions (SRIS).

Established in 2009, Anthony James Insurance Brokers has developed a reputation for offering comprehensive insurance services to businesses across the UK. The firm’s expertise covers a range of sectors, including commercial, corporate, and high-net-worth personal lines, making it a valuable addition to SRG’s portfolio.

Steve Boorman (pictured above), chairman and founder of Anthony James, along with managing director Jacob Duckworth, will continue to lead the business. Their focus will be on driving growth both organically and through further acquisitions.

The company’s team of 50 employees will join SRG, continuing operations from their offices in Loughborough and Nottingham, thereby strengthening SRG’s presence in the East Midlands.

This acquisition marks SRG’s fifth since partnering with investment firms Warburg Pincus and Temasek in May this year.

Lee Anderson, SRG group deputy CEO, stated that Steve, Jacob, and the team at Anthony James are a significant addition to SRG. He noted that Anthony James has built a rapidly growing and profitable business that SRG has respected for several years.

Anderson also expressed enthusiasm for the value the Anthony James team will bring to SRG’s retail business, SRIS, and looks forward to the contributions they will make to SRG’s growth strategy.

Steve Boorman, chairman of Anthony James, highlighted the alignment of values between his team and SRG during the deal process, particularly their shared focus on people and growth.

He thanked his team for their efforts and expressed anticipation for the future collaboration with SRG colleagues.
