Specialist insurance intermediary Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has announced the appointment of Jaya Taylor as global leader for group regulatory affairs, risk and compliance. Taylor will report directly to SRG CEO Warren Downey.

With extensive expertise in governance and compliance, Taylor joins SRG from Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty SE, where she currently holds the role of Global Compliance Officer. A qualified lawyer, SRG highlights that she brings broad multi-jurisdictional insurance and management experience to SRG, aligning with the group’s international growth objectives.

Commenting on the appointment, Downey stated, “We are delighted to have attracted someone of Jaya’s calibre, professional expertise and experience. As we embark on our international expansion, having senior executives responsible for key functions with deep and relevant cross-border experience will be key.”

Taylor will assume her position at SRG following the completion of her contractual obligations with Allianz.

Taylor’s appointment follows the company’s recent acquisition of One Claim Limited, an Essex-based claims management provider. One Claim supports broker partners and clients through the claims process, from initial notification to settlement. Following the acquisition, the One Claim team will join SRG’s managing general agent (MGA) division, MX.

SRG notes that the addition of One Claim brings substantial expertise in the motor fleet sector to the company, enhancing its existing motor fleet capabilities in underwriting, wholesale, and retail broking. This includes motor fleet services offered by Capulus, an MGA SRG acquired in October 2024.

Last month, the intermediary also announced a deal for Stonehatch, a specialist broker in bloodstock and livestock insurance.

Founded by Chris Williamson in 2014, Stonehatch has developed a presence in the bloodstock and livestock sectors, offering insurance solutions to clients and broker partners worldwide.

Williamson and his senior team will remain in leadership roles, continuing to guide Stonehatch as it joins SRG’s growing equine division.
