Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has announced the acquisition of Brentacre Insurance, a specialist broker focused on insurance for modified and performance vehicles, subject to regulatory approval.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Brentacre Insurance, established in 1987, provides insurance for modified, classic and performance cars, as well as specialist commercial vehicles.
Following the acquisition, Brentacre will become part of SRG’s UK retail division, Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions (SRIS). The acquisition aligns with its strategy of partnering with specialist businesses.
Brentacre will gain access to SRG’s broader distribution network, which it hopes will create new opportunities for growth. The company will continue to operate as before, maintaining its existing services.
Commenting on the deal, Brentacre managing director John White said the company is looking forward to improving and expanding its offering.
“As a specialist schemes broker with a deep focus on modified and performance vehicle insurance, Brentacre is an ideal fit for our fast-growing business,” said Lee Anderson (pictured), group deputy CEO of SRG. “This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate and expand in a niche area which once again reinforces our position as the natural home for specialist businesses.”
This deal follows the acquisition of Anthony James Insurance Brokers, which was also aimed at strengthening SRIS. Anthony James Insurance Brokers provides expert services covering a range of sectors, including commercial, corporate, and high-net-worth personal lines.
The Brentacre acquisition also continues SRG’s M&A streak. In December, SRG acquired specialist insurance broker R3, which was its 11th acquisition that year. The company also purchased Stonehatch, a specialist broker in bloodstock and livestock insurance, as well as property and casualty managing general agent Trilogy Underwriting.
