Apollo Syndicate Management’s political risk armoury has been reinforced with the arrival of William Steeds.
Appointed as senior political risk underwriter for Syndicate 1969, Steeds brings experience from XL Catlin where he served in the same capacity. His insurance career of more than two decades started in 1997 via the Lloyd’s Graduate Scheme.
A Chatham House member, Steeds is also equipped with specialist know-how given his War Studies degree from King’s College London.
Commenting on the appointment, crisis management head Chris King said: “At Apollo, we have built our business by attracting market leaders, talented specialists that can drive success by expanding our underwriting into profitable niches. Will is one such figure.
“His experience in political risk and contract frustration is recognised by brokers and insureds alike. I would therefore like to welcome him to the business.”
Steeds takes on the role immediately.
