Global (re)insurer Sompo International has announced the opening of its first Madrid office on July 1, located at Puerta de Europa, Torre Realia, Paseo de la Castellan 216.
Insurance Iberia country manager Jamie Cañellas welcomed clients, broker partners, colleagues, and other stakeholders to the insurer’s new office.
“By establishing an office in the capital, we are taking a crucial step in the continued expansion of our insurance operation in Iberia and the wider Continental Europe market,” Cañellas said. “With offices in both Barcelona and now Madrid, we will have two strong platforms from which we can better serve the Spanish market. Given its rich talent pool, Madrid will also play host to a growing team of Sompo International experts.”
This recent expansion follows Sompo International’s other recent global developments; earlier this year, the P&C firm expanded in the UK with its first-ever office outside of London through the opening of its Birmingham branch.
