Sompo International has announced two significant appointments for its Iberian Insurance operation.
José María Conde-Salazar (pictured above, left) will assume the role of head of distribution & client relationship management, while Olivier Marcén (pictured above, right) will be the new head of professional lines.
Conde-Salazar brings over two decades of experience in the Iberian insurance market to his new role. He joins from Generali Global, where he served as the head of clients and brokers for Iberia and Latin America. His previous roles include positions at ACE European Group, Marsh, and AIG Europe.
Meanwhile, Marcén comes to Sompo International from AIG, where he dedicated 17 years to the company. His most recent role at AIG was as manager, cyber and professional indemnity technology underwriting operations in Barcelona.
Both appointments will see them reporting to Jamie Canellas, Sompo International’s Iberia country manager for insurance.
“With these latest appointments to our Iberia leadership team, Sompo International has taken another step forward in its quest to attract and retain top talent and provide industry-leading services across Continental Europe. As we look to build and strengthen productive partnerships with clients and brokers, in support of the company’s strategies, José Maria and Olivier’s extensive experience coupled with their strong business relationships will be invaluable in developing our position as a leader within the Iberian insurance market,” Canellas said.
