The Society of Insurance Broking (SIB) will now be chaired by Yutree Insurance director Laura Hancock (pictured).
SIB has not issued a public announcement as of this writing, but Hancock revealed the change herself on social media. A job update on LinkedIn shows she took on the post this month. The Norwich Union alumnus succeeded Yutree managing director Kevin Hancock, who chaired SIB from September 2018 to December 2022.
In a recent interview with Insurance Business, she looked back at the past decade of her career.
“There’s been loads of milestones for Yutree in the last 10 years,” said Hancock, who also has close ties with the British Insurance Brokers’ Association.
“And when I sit here now and look at the fact that we employ 24 people, we control £11.5 million of premium, we’ve got schemes, we’ve got 300 brokers who buy from us on our underwriting business – I just marvel every single day at how on earth we’ve done it, but I’m also very grateful for it.”
Hancock’s credentials include time spent at The Davis Group and Bluefin.
SIB is the first dedicated society within the Chartered Insurance Institute. The body represents insurance broking professionals in the UK, elevates the levels of competence and knowledge, and assists in brokers’ career development.
