Law firm Slater and Gordon UK has announced its latest addition to the board – insurance industry veteran David Neave, who has been appointed as a non-executive director.
Also a non-executive director at insurer LV=, the new Slater and Gordon UK board member brings with him decades of experience, including time spent at
RSA and the Co-operative Banking Group. Neave, who began his career at Royal Insurance in 1980, also served as chairman of the Insurance Fraud Bureau and as director of the Motor Insurers’ Bureau.
“I’m very aware that the legal industry is facing a number of challenges in the years ahead – but for those able to rise to the challenge, there are great opportunities,” he said. “Slater and Gordon has exciting plans to become the number one provider of consumer legal services in the UK, and I’m pleased to be joining the team and helping fulfil that ambition.”
For chief executive David Whitmore, having an even more constructive relationship with the insurance industry will help the newly independent firm ensure it is able to resolve cases in the best interests of clients, as effectively and efficiently as possible.
“We have clear and bold ambitions, and David brings a great range of skills and expertise that will help us deliver our plans,” commented Whitmore.
