Marine insurance provider Skuld has announced an 11% growth in renewals, increasing its mutual protection and indemnity (P&I) gross tonnage to 88.5 million.
The company said the growth figure is net of de-selections and lost business. The renewals were completed on February 20.
“In a very competitive market we are very pleased to conclude a successful renewal and record another increase on our previous year’s gross tonnage,” said Skuld president and CEO Stale Hansen.
“We remain convinced this is due to our service commitment as well as our objective of sustainable growth,” Hansen added. “We note with pride that our loyal members do not only renew their policies with Skuld but also bring new quality tonnage into the club.”
Skuld has also announced the appointment of Krester Krøger Kjær as head of the Copenhagen office, where he previously served as head of claims and deputy head.
Kjær replaces Helle Lehmann, who is stepping down to pursue new opportunities. Lehmann will remain at Skuld in an advisory role until September.
“Helle has been head of Skuld Copenhagen since April 2009, and in that time the office has undergone tremendous change,” Hansen said. “New and modern working methods and ways of operating have been implemented in parallel with maintaining and enhancing the long tradition of quality service to our members and clients.”
