Following two major buyouts earlier this month, Seventeen Group has now announced the acquisition of East Pennine Insurance Consultants (EPIC), which operates as Fletcher Smith in Sheffield and North East Insurance Brokers in the North East.

Established in 1985, EPIC manages £6.1 million in gross written premiums (GWP) and employs nine staff members, including directors Steve Brooke and Simon Walton.

EPIC has a major presence in the motor trade sector and will become a centre of excellence within the business, Seventeen Group says. The acquisition is also expected to develop wider opportunities for James Hallam and Seventeen Group in the North.

Seventeen Group CEO Paul Anscombe (pictured above) commented on the acquisition, noting it is their first in Yorkshire and represents a significant opportunity to build their presence in the region.

“We have achieved significant success in developing other regional businesses across the UK, and EPIC creates additional value through its extensive motor trade knowledge and experience,” he said.

Earlier this June, the insurance group made a double swoop for both Wiseman Insurance Services and North West Risk Solutions, with both deals expanding Seventeen Group’s regional operations and sector capabilities.

Wisemans Insurance Services Limited (Wisemans Insurance Services) is a general broker located in Ashford, Surrey. The firm employs nine staff members and handles total premiums amounting to £3.5 million.

North West Risk Solutions, meanwhile, is a partnership broker based in Manchester. It is known for its expertise in real estate and construction.

Back in April, the insurance group has also added £3.5 million in gross written premium with the acquisition of Jannard Quadrant Insurance Brokers. Under the deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, the Jannard Quadrant roster will join Seventeen Group’s office in Watford.

In March, Seventeen Group also acquired Keith Miller Insurance Services and a book of business relating to Hendricks Insurance, adding £5.3 million in gross written premium the enterprise.
