Now that Sedgwick Claims Management Services has grown after snapping up Cunningham Lindsey, the firm has announced who will be in charge of the combined business operations in the UK.
Ian Muress (pictured) came onboard in January as chief executive of international operations and is in charge of providing executive oversight for all of Sedgwick’s business units outside the United States and Canada. The London-based industry veteran is supported by Stewart Steel in his capacity as UK CEO, while Paul White is now chief operating officer for Sedgwick’s UK operations after being COO at Cunningham Lindsey for nine years.
Steel, who has over 35 years of experience in the loss adjusting business, has headed the UK operations of Sedgwick subsidiary Vericlaim since 2009.
“As we expand our global operations with a growing footprint, improved capabilities, and broader technical resources, our focus remains clearly on our clients, and we are pleased to have veterans like Stewart and Paul leading our UK operations in delivering outstanding service to clients,” said Muress. “I look forward to working with them and the rest of the management team to ensure we capitalise on the opportunities in the market and enhance services and value for our customers and industry partners.”
When the acquisition was first announced in December, Sedgwick group president Michael Arbour commented: “Bringing the incomparable talent, expertise, and robust capabilities of Sedgwick, Vericlaim, and Cunningham Lindsey under one umbrella is among the greatest stories to emerge from the claims industry in many years.”
