Insurance claims solutions business S&G Response has opened a new office in Halifax, expanding its operations within the North of England.
The new 4,000-square-foot office is located in Holroyd’s Mill, Dean Clough, situated within easy reach of Halifax town centre. The opening created an initial 20 new jobs for Halifax locals, with plans to increase to 50 over the course of the year.
Andy Whatmough, managing director at S&G Response, said they were thrilled to be expanding to the bustling town, which already has a very strong insurance community.
“We’re hoping to strengthen that by continuing our business growth in the town. This new office will increase our capability and scope, and by increasing our geographical footprint we can mitigate our business risk of operating in a sole location,” Whatmough continued.
The company said it was eager to provide new opportunities to local people. Currently employing a team of 150 people in Cheshire, S&G Response looks to expand this further with employment opportunities in Halifax.
“We are initially looking to secure a further 30 new team members to join our motor claims department this summer. However, our business is growing rapidly, and we feel this will increase at a controlled pace towards the end of the year,” Anne Pass, head of HR at S&G Response, said.
“We’re keen to attract local applicants from within a 10-mile radius, and the office is perfectly located close to the town centre and all public transportation, which is beneficial for locals and our company’s carbon footprint!”
Pass added that they want to maintain a one team mentality at S&G and enable both offices to work together to continue charity challenges and team building exercises as a full company.
Over the past two years, S&G Response raised a total of £37,555 for local charities. The company intends to continue doing this as it extends its charitable efforts to Halifax.
