Sabre Insurance Group Plc, which recently became the exclusive underwriter for policies issued by motorcycle insurance broker MCE Insurance Ltd, has begun a process to recruit an additional non-executive director (NED).
The move comes following the exit of NED and audit committee chair Catherine Barton, who became part of the Sabre board in October 2017.
“I would like to thank Catherine for her work at Sabre, notably her valuable contributions to the board and hard work chairing the audit committee,” said Sabre chair Andy Pomfret in a statement.
“Since joining the board in 2017, Catherine has provided significant support to the company, notably with her insurance expertise. We wish her all the best in the future.”
According to Sabre, Barton stepped down on November 26 to pursue an executive opportunity. Details are scant as to her next move. The Bupa alumnus served as chief financial officer of Talbot Underwriting for a year from September 2020.
In the interim, Sabre board member Ian Clark will act as audit committee chair, subject to regulatory approval.
