Ryan Specialty is expanding its global renewable energy insurance offerings with PERse International, a managing general underwriter (MGU) headquartered in London.
PERse International specialises in both onshore and offshore renewable insurance. It operates within Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM), the firm’s underwriting specialty.
Stuart Burchell has been named head of PERse International and will lead the new MGU. Meanwhile, Adam Hearn and Josh Cantwell were selected to head the onshore and offshore divisions, respectively. The team holds delegated underwriting authority of up to $100 million, with a primary focus on supporting the ongoing global expansion of renewable energy.
“We are excited to join and contribute to the continued growth of RSUM,” Burchell said in an emailed news release. “The team brings longstanding relationships, experience and knowledge in the renewables sector and as part of Ryan Specialty, we have the ideal platform for both growth and innovation within our field.”
Miles Wuller, president and CEO of RSUM, also remarked on the expanded renewable energy offering.

Last month, Ryan Specialty announced the launch of a new international financial lines MGU. Ryan Financial Lines was formed by unifying the operations of several MGUs and programs that were part of RSUM.
