Two promoted executives have joined the senior team at Wellington Circus insurance broker Russell Scanlan.
Steve Wright (pictured above), who came onboard in 2014 to introduce the claims function role and eventually went on to become claims manager, will now serve as claims director with a wider remit spanning not only insurance claims but also the human resources and health & safety department.
“I am extremely pleased to have been given the opportunity to join the senior team and feel honoured to be following in the footsteps of the late Andy Jenkins,” commented the new claims director.
“It has been a challenging time over the past year; like most businesses, we have felt the pressure, yet we have pulled together as a team and I’m proud of the outcomes we have achieved for our clients. I look forward to continuing to provide this support to clients while contributing to the growth of the business in my new role.”
Also joining the senior team is company stalwart Matt Franklin (pictured below), who started out as an account handler in 2004 before climbing the ranks and taking responsibility for a wide book of clients. Franklin will continue to look after clients while now being involved with the general running of Russell Scanlan in his new capacity as director.
Commenting on his promotion, Franklin said: “I’m really proud to have been asked to be a director and to start a new and exciting challenge. I have been part of the Russell Scanlan team for 16 years now; over this time I have built strong relationships with clients, which has been incredibly rewarding.
“I’m looking forward to the new role and responsibilities, while maintaining the client-facing aspect as an account executive. Despite the challenges faced over the last year, the business and team have performed well. I look forward to being part of the future success of Russell Scanlan.”
The senior team also currently consists of managing director Bryan Banbury, director Simon Winiarski, and sales and marketing director Mike Dickinson.
“We’re thrilled to announce the promotions of both Matt and Steve and welcome them as directors,” stated Dickinson. “Both have years of experience within the business and across the industry, so their knowledge will be invaluable in supporting both the continued growth of our client portfolio and the business itself.
“It has been an incredibly strange year for everyone, with remote working and the absence largely of being able to meet with clients, it has been a challenge. Nonetheless, I am incredibly proud of what the entire team has achieved, and these two new promotions are testament to Russell Scanlan’s success.”
The Nottingham-based broker, which holds Chartered status and employs a 35-strong workforce, was founded by Patrick Scanlan in 1881.
