Joining RSA at what UK & International chief executive Steve Lewis described as a pivotal moment in the firm’s journey to be best in class, Sweeney has been tapped to serve as chief underwriting officer for the same unit. Prior to his appointment, he was consulting with a number of early-stage insurance businesses.
“RSA is a company ready to step into the future,” commented the incoming CUO for the insurer’s UK and international business. “I’m excited to help bring together age-old insurance expertise with new ways of thinking for the benefit of our customers.”
Delighted to welcome Sweeney to the team, Lewis cited the former’s expertise and insights, which the CEO believes will be hugely valuable to RSA’s pricing and underwriting community as it continues to build capabilities and competitive edge.
Meanwhile, in a separate announcement, the insurer said it has extended its suite of products to include cyber solutions for large and multinational businesses.
An evolution of RSA’s existing cyber product for SMEs, the new offering features comprehensive worldwide cover of up to £25 million in capacity, assistance with risk assessment, as well as provision and management of post-event services.
Risk assessment is supported by Deloitte while a 24-hour incident response service is delivered in partnership with Crawford & Company.
