Re/insurance MGA Rokstone has appointed Ian Green (pictured) to head a newly formed global operational power generation facility backed by A-rated global carriers.
Green will commence his role as head of the company’s power generation division on October 01, a statement from Rokstone said. Formerly director of energy and natural resources for Occam Underwriting, Green has 20 years’ experience specialising in energy and power, leading the underwriting for some of the biggest insurers in this sector. He spent four years at Hiscox, five years at Aegis and three years each at Chubb, Aon and AIG.
According to Aventum, Rokstone’s parent group, Green brings market-leading expertise, long-standing and highly developed relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, as well as a proven track record in the highly specialised power generation segment.
Rokstone currently has an operational power generation book of US$30 million, and it believes Green’s appointment will facilitate its expansion in the market, as he brings over his existing book of business, which will continue to be supported by Hiscox.
“Power generation is an extremely technical niche area which requires a high level of expertise to deliver consistent underwriting profit through the cycle,” said Green. “Many players have tried and failed over the years – lacking the specialist knowledge required.”
“I’m very fortunate to have had the opportunity across my career to work with some of the best teams in the world,” he added. “As a class it has its challenges, but with my knowledge, backed by top quality capacity commitment, all driven by Rokstone, we have an exciting winning formula. I’m delighted to be joining Rokstone and the ambitious Aventum Group. I’m genuinely excited to be joining them on this journey to become one of the biggest and the best global re/insurance specialty businesses in the world.”
