London-headquartered RKH Specialty has snapped up Richard Putnam from CNA Hardy, where he most recently served as underwriting manager.
Appointed as divisional director for healthcare, Putnam will be working closely with the specialty lines broker’s hub offices in Singapore, Dubai, and Miami, as well as RKH’s extensive network of producers. The goal is to develop what was described as an “ambitious” range of products and services for international clients outside the United States.
“In recent years, the USA has formed the majority of our healthcare book,” noted RKH healthcare head Alistair Carter. “However, healthcare spending is increasing exponentially across the globe and many countries are experiencing significant demographic shifts and social mobility that has resulted in a growing middle class who have the appetite and affluence to demand high-quality healthcare, which in turn is driving demand for our services.
“Bringing together Richard’s expertise with our global reach and presence in international markets will enable us to capitalise on these new opportunities and deliver unique products for clients in these regions.”
Aside from his extensive technical insurance knowledge, Putnam also has a background in human biology and anatomy. His experience includes developing a wide range of healthcare products for individual clinicians, medical technology start-ups, NHS providers, private hospitals, and whole government healthcare systems.
