Revealed – top insurance employers in the UK for 2025

Insurance News

By Roxanne Libatique

Insurance Business UK (IBUK) has released its annual rankings of the best insurance companies to work for, highlighting firms that received high marks from their employees across key areas including benefits, workplace culture, and employee development.

Employment benefit preferences

Survey data gathered from insurance employees show that bonus and incentive schemes, pension and retirement plans, and flexible working arrangements continue to be the most valued offerings. These top three benefits have remained unchanged since 2021, suggesting stable priorities within the workforce.

There have been some notable shifts in secondary benefit preferences. Life insurance has gained significance for more employees, while features such as recognition programmes and structured performance reviews have seen a decline in perceived value.

Selection process for Top Insurance Employers 2025 list

The selection process for the 2025 list involved two stages. In the first phase, insurance firms were invited to submit details on their workplace policies, including compensation structures, professional development support, diversity and inclusion efforts, and overall corporate culture.

Following this, employees from each nominated firm were asked to complete an anonymous survey evaluating their experience across the same metrics.

Only those organisations that received a sufficient number of survey responses – relative to the size of their workforce – and achieved a minimum average satisfaction score of 75% were selected for inclusion on the list.

Notable insurance employers for 2025

Among this year’s recognised firms are Arch Insurance International and DUAL UK.

Arch Insurance International is a subsidiary of Arch Capital Group, which is listed on the S&P 500. The firm offers underwriting services across over 20 lines of business and operates in multiple markets including Lloyd’s, the UK regions, and international locations such as Australia, Bermuda, and parts of the EU.

DUAL UK, a managing general agent, was also named among the top employers. Employee responses noted the company’s workplace environment and opportunities for involvement in business growth.
