In time for International Women’s Day, Insurance Business UK (IBUK) has announced its sixth annual list of Elite Women, recognising outstanding female leaders in the insurance sector.
This year’s selection underscores the significant accomplishments of women leaders, often in the face of industry-wide challenges, including gender bias, unequal pay, limited representation, and a scarcity of mentorship opportunities.
The selection process for the 2024 Elite Women list involved a comprehensive nomination phase, where insurance professionals from across the UK were invited to propose candidates demonstrating exceptional leadership and achievements over the past year.
Nominees were evaluated based on their contributions and specific examples of success within the industry.
An independent panel of judges was enlisted to review the nominations. The selection criteria focused on the nominees’ impact on the insurance sector, aiming to identify those who had made significant strides in their fields.
After a rigorous review process, the panel and the IBUK team finalised a list of 56 Elite Women, ensuring a fair selection by prohibiting self-voting and nominations of relatives to avoid any conflicts of interest.
