Several insurance companies and insurance law firms have made leadership changes in the past few days.  

The Clear Group has appointed Oscar Holloway as managing director of its mergers and acquisition division. Holloway previously held senior positions at leading insurance firms, including group M&A director at JLT, senior vice president at Marsh and most recently, head of Europe at Miller Insurance Services.  

Holloway will lead Clear Group’s M&A strategy, building on progress achieved since Goldman Sachs’ investment in 2022. 

Envelop Risk, a cyber reinsurance and analytics specialist, has appointed Graeme Bell (pictured top, left) as group chief operating officer, in addition to his role as chief legal officer. Bell, who joined the company as a non-executive director in 2020, has been serving as interim COO since 2023. Prior to joining Envelop, he was a corporate M&A partner in several US and UK law firms.  

The company has also appointed Simon Welton (pictured top, right) as EVP – underwriting performance and strategic partnerships. Welton has more than 30 years of experience, previously serving as the company’s EVP – insurance. He joined the company in 2022 after a decade at Swiss Re

Meanwhile, niche lines insurance group Atec has appointed Luke Dexter (pictured below) to the newly created role of principle data scientist, where he will lead the advancement of the company’s data science capabilities.  

Dexter joins the company from Covea where he held several senior data science and pricing development roles. He was also Aviva’s former lead data scientist. 

United Insurance Brokers, meanwhile, has appointed Marek Ambrozewski as managing director of its aviation division. The appointment is effective this month. He succeeds Miles Taffs, who will leave the company at the end of the first quarter. 

Ambrozewski has more than two decades of industry experience, serving in several key leadership roles in the aviation sector. 

On the insurance law firm front, John Bruce has officially assumed his role as senior partner at Kennedys, succeeding Nick Thomas. Bruce, who is based in London, was appointed to the role in December following a formal election process. 

Meanwhile, DAC Beachcroft welcomed Maria Cetta as a partner in its aviation practice. Cetta joins the company from Clyde & Co. where she was a partner in its aviation liability practice for almost 20 years.
