Andrew Markus is succeeding Marvin Pestcoe as chief executive of Langhorne Re Bermuda.
In a release, the in-force life and annuity blocks reinsurer said Pestcoe has retired but will remain on Langhorne Re Bermuda’s board through the end of the year for the leadership transition. His successor has also been elected to the board as part of the CEO appointment.
Markus first served as a consultant in connection with the company’s capital raise before taking on the roles of chief operating officer and general counsel of Langhorne Holdings LLC and its Bermuda-based subsidiaries. His credentials include time spent at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, RenaissanceRe, and Maritime Finance Company.
Langhorne Re, which came to life in 2018, is backed by long-term equity capital commitments from Reinsurance Group of America, RenaissanceRe, and other third-party pension fund and life insurance firms.
