The show goes on for the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA), which is now accepting delegate registrations for its annual conference and exhibition happening in May.
“We look forward to welcoming brokers, insurers, suppliers, and other bodies to Manchester to talk, network, and learn,” said BIBA chief executive Steve White.
“Never before have we faced more challenges, be it Brexit, climate events, or wellbeing and now is the time for us to come together to look for suitable, pioneering solutions. We look forward to seeing you in Manchester.”
Slated for May 13 and 14 at Manchester Central, the event will feature Dr Bertrand Piccard, who has circumnavigated the globe in a balloon and in a solar-powered plane; counter-terrorism expert Amaryllis Fox; motorsport personality David Coulthard MBE; investigative documentary maker Reggie Yates; boxing gold medallist Nicola Adams OBE; former Special Forces soldier Ollie Ollerton; and Billy Monger, the 20-year-old racing driver who suffered a double amputation in 2017.

To be hosted again by broadcaster Huw Edwards, the two-day event also spans seminars on topics including diversity & inclusion, intellectual property, wellbeing, and regulation. A ‘knowledge bar’ will also be an added attraction, allowing delegates to learn from data and digital marketing experts.
As for the issue of the coronavirus outbreak, the trade body offered these assurances: “Every year BIBA takes the health and safety of exhibitors, delegates, and employees very seriously, putting in place rigorous checks and procedures at our event.
“2020 will be no exception, and we intend to take appropriate advice and guidance about additional measures that we may need to take to protect visitors from coronavirus.”
It was at last year’s conference that now Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed his leadership bid.
