Mark Smith has moved to Probitas 1492 after serving as portfolio manager for
QBE’s commercial financial lines portfolio.
Previously responsible for the management liability and kidnap & ransom lines in the UK and international markets at QBE, Smith is now part of Probitas 1492’s financial lines team and holds the position of senior underwriter for management liability. The 25-year financial lines veteran started his career at
Aviva and has also worked at
Chubb and
AIG.
“We are very excited that Mark has joined the team as he brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise to further enhance our management liability proposition,” commented Neila Buurman, chief underwriting officer for casualty. “Mark’s focus on delivering excellent service to both brokers and clients will ensure that our financial lines portfolios will continue to build on the successful year we had in 2017.”
Probitas 1492 said Smith’s broad territorial experience is aligned fully with the syndicate’s ambitions.
The London-headquartered firm can underwrite risks across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia, Central & South America, and Canada. It specialises in property, construction, and casualty insurance and reinsurance solutions.
