Financial services expert Sir Keith Skeoch (pictured), whose experience spans more than four decades in both the private and public sectors, has been appointed as QBE Insurance Group’s non-executive chair for its European operations.
Tim Ingram, Skeoch’s predecessor, has retired after nearly a decade as chairman.
“I would like to thank Tim for his tremendous impact on the European Operations business during his nine-year tenure and wish him all the best in his retirement,” said QBE International chief executive Jason Harris in an emailed release.
Skeoch’s credentials, meanwhile, include time spent as James Capel chief economist, Standard Life Investments chief investment officer, chief executive of Standard Life Plc and Standard Life Aberdeen, and chair of the Financial Reporting Council.
According to QBE Europe, its new chair will be working closely with Harris on driving forward the insurer’s strategic ambitions.
“Keith’s considerable experience will be invaluable to our European Operations business,” noted the CEO. “I look forward to working closely with him in the coming years to make our business a continued success.”
