Probitas 1492 has brought in former Munich Re Syndicate deputy chief underwriting officer Natasha Jodrell to lead a special purpose arrangement (SPA) – a type of Lloyd’s syndicate – for the 2024 year of account (YOA).
Called “AdA SPA 2024,” the special purpose arrangement will be focussed on marine and specialty, leveraging Jodrell’s expertise. The insurance veteran brings nearly three decades of industry experience to AdA.
“We are very pleased to have received in-principal approval for the AdA SPA for 2024,” Probitas CUO and active underwriter Antony Dodson said in a release.
“Probitas is looking forward using its expertise and capital to support the AdA team deliver market-leading performance and client service for which they are renown.”
Meanwhile Jodrell, who left Munich Re Syndicate in 2022, commented: “We are excited to develop an underwriter-led platform, delivering profit across the cycle supporting clients and London market brokers with strong leadership in both underwriting and claims.”
According to the announcement, the aim for the SPA is to develop a diverse marine and specialty portfolio, building out from the existing portfolio underwritten on behalf of Probitas 1492 for the 2023 YOA.
