Policy Expert has appointed Mark Wilson (pictured) as its new chair, effective this February.
The company, which provides home, motor and pet insurance to more than 1.5 million customers, aims to accelerate growth and strengthen its position in the UK insurance market.
Wilson has 25 years of experience in the insurance sector, having previously led AIA and served as CEO of Aviva from 2013 to 2018. He is also a non-executive director at BlackRock. His appointment follows a period of expansion for Policy Expert, which has seen an increase in policyholders and the introduction of its pet insurance offering.
In September 2024, the company secured investment from private equity firm Cinven, which acquired a 50% shareholding from a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. Wilson will support Policy Expert’s growth strategy, focusing on customer expansion, business development and potential mergers and acquisitions.
