OneBefore, the managing general agent (MGA) specialising in accident, absence, health, and travel insurance, has launched a new insurance product named Income Interruption which aims to protect individuals against loss of income due to sickness or accidents.
The new offering has been developed in partnership with digital insurance broker Superscript and provides accident and health insurance coverage specifically designed for SMEs, contractors, and the self-employed.
OneBefore said that the product's design allows policyholders to choose the level and duration of coverage, including sickness cover that is not widely available elsewhere. Key features include weekly payments during periods of illness, lump-sum payouts in cases of permanent disability or death, and daily benefits for hospitalisation.
Vered Lobel (pictured above), OneBefore's CEO, stated that the Income Interruption product addresses a market need by providing flexible coverage options for SMEs and sole traders, which form a significant part of the UK economy.
“An easy-to-use pricing model eliminates the need for detailed demographic information, ensuring affordability and accessibility,” Lobel said. “This new offering exemplifies our commitment to develop customer-centric insurance solutions that are comprehensive, accessible, and fairly priced. We're confident Income Interruption will transform how small businesses protect their employees financial well-being."
Superscript’s chief commercial officer, Chris Barclay, also remarked that the partnership with OneBefore would expand access to the broker’s platform and insurance offerings for SME owners.
“The creation of Income Interruption with OneBefore provides smarter cover for businesses, building on the many ways we already help protect them from risk – offering customers peace of mind for the unpredictable,” Barclay said. “Our Accident and Sickness policy is the perfect complement to OneBefore’s Income interruption product, allowing business owners more access to cover they need for peace of mind.”
Barclay also stated that Superscript remains focused on developing partnerships that help extend the reach of its services and deliver solutions that benefit customers.
The Income Interruption product is supported by Mission Underwriters, with long-term capacity provided through Accelerant.
