Octo Telematics has launched a new service that will enable insurers to improve their relationships with clients with the use of telematics.
The Octo Link Program is a cross-industry platform for simple and secure sharing of drivers’ telematics data, enabling direct communications between insurers and customers.
The service is based on drivers’ scores and contextualised risk analytics collected by Octo’s direct-to-consumer driving behaviour app.
Octo links the drivers with insurers, providing the latter with the data to price risk more effectively and manage customer relationships more efficiently.
The platform automatically updates with driving data rather than the manual input of static data that current aggregators rely on. This easy use aims to increase consumers and insurers’ adoption of telematics.
“The Link Program has been designed to support any motor insurer regardless of their interest in telematics,” said Mauro Cantoni, vice president of insurance at Octo Telematics.
“The Link addresses the complete lifecycles of a customer relationship from acquisition through engagement to retention,” he added.
Through the programme, Cantoni said insurers can take full advantage of a wide range of data to ensure that they are offering customers the best insurance package.
“Using our Link Program means that, not only can insurers take advantage of a built-in telematics user base to diversify their portfolios, they can also accelerate their plans to ‘go digital’,” he said.
Currently in the pre-launch phase, Octo Telematics is working with five insurers on Link in the UK, Germany and Brazil, with more to be signed in the coming months.
